About us
Garofalo Group history comes from the postwar years, when Italy was an annihilated country with a precarious future.
Raffaele Garofalo was a young idealist who obeyed the dream he firmly believed in: to become a great surgeon. Immediately after graduating he went as a volunteer to the military hospital in Naples where he performed his first surgeries. From Naples to Rome passing through Ripe San Ginesio, the dream of young Raffaele came true, and together with his brothers at the end of the 1950s took over the management of the Clinic where he worked with great tenacity, the nursing home Sant'Antonio da Padova, in Rome.
The 1960s triggered a phase of economic and social transformation in Italy, from an agricultural country to a modern nation, with an exponentially growing industry; in this scenario the Garofalo family took the next step which gave rise to the birth of a large entrepreneurial group. A land was purchased in the Monteverde neighborhood and construction of a new clinic began. Thus was born the Casa di Cura Città di Roma.
In the 1980s the Garofalo Group continued massive growth in the healthcare sector. It was, therefore, the turn of the Aurelia Hospital, the European Hospital and the Samadi Nursing Home.
Today European Hospital is part of the Garofalo Roma Group, a health center of excellence that includes: Aurelia Hospital, Casa di Cura Città di Roma, Hospice Sant'Antonio Da Padova and Samadi Psychiatric Facility.
